This year, the association highlighted the efforts of Ian Crawford, Project Manager of the Victorian branch of Australia Dental Association (ADAVB), acknowledging his contribution towards the launch and management of the statewide initiative ‘dentists for cleaner water’. Crawford was credited for being “one of the major driving forces” behind the project, which aim is to promote better management of dental amalgam waste amongst Victorian dentists.
Noting ADA’s recent changing of guards, ADIA sent out congratulations to Dr Neil Hewson, who was recently elected as Federal President for the ADA, and Dr Stephen Cottrell as the new Victorian President of ADA.
ADIA is the national industry body representing the interests of the dental trade and service sectors in Australia. Founded in 1925, the professional association is devoted to the development of dentistry for the benefit of members, the industry and wider community as a whole.
